I am a trained qualitative researcher with experience in traditional qualitative as well as arts-based methodologies. I am passionate about equity-focused research that can meaningfully impact policy and practice.

My research training has primarily been within the realms of community-based, community-engaged, and participatory research. The interdisciplinary work that I have been involved in has spanned across fields of public health, social work, global health, community development, and the arts.

You can learn more about the research that I have been involved in as well as my own doctoral research project below.

In addition to my experiences as a qualitative researcher, I have written and contributed to a variety of academic and non-academic works geared towards a diversity of audiences. I believe in the importance of sharing the knowledge generated through research in ways that are accessible and interesting to those who it may be relevant to, and pride myself in my ability to share knowledge in a way that is creative and engaging.

Here you can find a list of my publications, forthcoming works, and other forms of knowledge sharing that I have been involved in.

Doctoral Research: “Exploring the experiences of young girls who engage in activism”

My current doctoral research is focused on learning more about and highlighting the activism of young girls, specifically girls aged 8-12 years old.

Nine girls between the ages of 8-12 years old who are involved in social or environmental change work participated in my doctoral research project. In the autumn of 2023, I engaged each of them in individual qualitative interviews and then brought them all together for two arts-based focus groups. During these research activities, I inquired about how they understood their own girlhoods, as well as about the social or environmental change work that they were involved in.

I am currently undertaking analysis of the data that I collected during this process - stay tuned for exciting updates!
